Welcome to the Friends of Ellistown Wildlife Group. Our group undertakes a range of projects that benefit our local wildlife.
We create new woodlands through our planting schemes, utilising our own trees that we have grown from seed or residents saplings grown in gardens.
Undertaking wildlife surveys at various sites using our ecological monitoring kit. Our surveys allow the group to monitor and record the diversity of our wildlife.
Generally the group undertakes tree planting activities between the months of October - March and it's wildlife surveys between the months of April - September.
Our group is completely led by volunteers who have an interest in natural history and doing postive things for wildlife enhancement.
Ellistown Wildlife Group was formed in the village of Ellistown, Leicestershire in 2008. Much of our work is undertaken within a 15 mile radius from the village of Ellistown.
